ABOUT

JonOne, renowned for his art influenced by graffiti, was born in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City, a hub where vibrant and intricate graffiti art flourished. At the age of 17, he began tagging his name in graffiti alongside a childhood friend. In 1984, he established the Graffiti 156 All Starz, aiming to unite the fervor of graffiti artists.

After relocating to Paris in 1987, he transitioned into painting on canvas within a studio setting. Quickly garnering recognition in Parisian artistic circles for his canvas works, he showcased his pieces in a 1990 exhibition at Gallery 45 in Berlin and participated in the Graffiti Paris exhibition, ensuring global exposure for his art. His creations consistently command some of the highest bids in the world of graffiti art.

In 2015, JonOne was admitted to France's Legion of Honour. To celebrate, JonOne painted Liberté Egalité Fraternité (2015) for the Palais Bourbon, the seat of the French National Assembly.
